Great Work at New Holland

Center Point’s  interns form a special connection with the students [at New Holland]. They build relationships through unconditional positive regard and students learn about healthy relationships, develop self-esteem, and self management skills.  In addition, they give students something to look forward to every week….  They provide encouragement and emotional support that helps to create a foundation for healthy personal and academic growth.  Many students need a confidential way to express the issues that are important to them.  Sometimes life issues get in the way of personal and academic success.  The interns provide an avenue for students to talk openly and confidentially about life experiences. —Philip Elrod, Counselor at New Holland Elementary
