Help Us Celebrate Red Ribbon Week!
Center Point SWAT (Students Working against Alcohol and Tobacco) teams actively engage in prevention activities throughout the school year but their message is especially poignant during Red Ribbon Week.
Started in 1988 as a national week of remembrance for DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who was murdered in 1985 combating the drug trade in Guadalajara, Mexico; Red Ribbon Week now utilizes the last week of October as an opportunity to focus youth on the importance of a drug-free lifestyle. This year, October 24-28 Gainesville City and Hall County schools will celebrate Red Ribbon Week and Center Point SWAT teams are proud to play an important part. Each middle school will utilize SWAT team members to engage the entire student body in Red Ribbon Week activities, pep rallies and awareness campaigns.
Help Center Point celebrate Red Ribbon Week this year by talking to a youth in your life about how important it is to stay drug-free!
