Counseling FAQ

Center Point accepts Aetna Insurance. If Aetna is your insurance provider, you will need to find out if they cover therapy. Call your provider to obtain information regarding your deductible and co-pay.

The cost for therapy sessions varies according to the experience and level of licensure of the therapist. You will need to provide information for your gross annual income and dependents for a session quote on a sliding scale fee. Please call or e-mail Kathy Webb, Director of Counseling, to talk about your options. You can do so by clicking here.

Therapeutic sessions are usually once a week. How often you come to therapy is a decision that will be made between you and your therapist.

Effective therapy has been studied and the results show the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor. Go with what you feel to be a "good fit." However, know that a therapist's age is less important than his/her ability to build rapport with you, his/her knowledge base, and his/her ability to help you problem-solve.

Several factors are involved when determining length of treatment. They include the following: The nature of the presenting problem, how quickly a client progresses in therapy, and limitations of insurance companies and EAPs. For example, straight forward anger management takes about twelve weeks whereas marriage counseling is much longer. Your therapist can best answer the question for you after he or she has met with you and fully understands your problems.

Center Point does not use certified counselors. We utilize fully licensed professionals, associate licensed professionals, and counselors-in-training. Counselors-in-training are closely and clinically supervised by fully-licensed professionals.
